AdventureSail® for Girls

AdventureSail® was introduced by the National Women’s Sailing Association (NWSA) in 1996 as a nationwide program for young girls at risk ages 9-14 to introduce them to a day of sailing thus opening their eyes to a multitude of life’s positive possibilities.

WSA-OC has become an official AdventureSail® location through the NWSA who will help sponsor our events. We provide the location, girls, boats, picnic, games, land and boat crews and NWSA provides t-shirts, banners, a small grant and tons of support.

Our first annual AdventureSail® will be held this year on Sunday, August 11th. The day will begin with a brief safety lesson, then we will head out for a sail, and end the day with games, prizes, a special guest speaker and a picnic.

We are reaching out to local youth organizations to invite young girls at risk ages 9-14 to engage in the day of learning and empowerment.

There are many ways to join in on this landmark event for WSA-OC!
